Come learn with us! In 2022 we offered two chicken processing classes in which students learned how to process broilers from pasture to freezer. By the end of this roughly 8 hour day the student will be able to effectively kill, scald, pluck, eviscerate and bag a chicken on their own. We provide close instruction throughout, give a tour of our operation and field all questions about the process from brooder to table. We provide lunch and a chicken to take home! It is our hope for as many as possible to regain this valuable skill that was once common in our society. A lawn is a terrible thing to waste, and most families have the ability to raise all of their chicken for the year on very small acreage. The more people who take responsibility for their food provenance, the more the market will have to respond by providing highly quality, ethically sourced chicken for all. We hope you join us!
